Join the family
Most software careers optimize dashboards for people who already have three. At how.fm, what you ship lands in the hands of shop-floor operators in more than 30 countries. Many of them are still under-trained and under-supported.

Our core values
Not words for the office wall. Five practical ways we choose what to do and how to do it.
With humility, we strive to always be learning.
We are better, when we are together.
We value goal-orientedness over busy-ness.
Make a plan, try it out early, fail and improve.
We embrace change and adapt as our mission and team need it.
Our hiring process
Our recruitment process consists of five stages in total when you apply for a full-time or part-time role, and four stages when you apply for a working student role without the Live Case Study. Our process is designed to be transparent, efficient, and focused on finding the right fit for both parties.
At how.fm, we believe that hiring is a two-way street. Our interview process is designed to help both you and us figure out if we’re the perfect match.
During the interviews, which take place in both German and English, we want to get to know you better: your skills, your personality, and what makes you excited about your work. But just as importantly, we want you to get to know us. Please feel free to ask questions, share what’s important to you, and bring up anything that’s on your mind. After all, finding the right job is just as important for you as finding the right team member is for us.
While this is our standard recruiting process, we genuinely value flexibility and reserve the right to make adjustments if needed, ensuring the best experience for everyone involved.
You apply, get a confirmation, and answer a short role-specific questionnaire. We read every application — and if it’s not a fit, you’ll hear that too.
30 minutes with our People team: your background, the role, and the practical things: salary expectations, start date, formalities. Interviews happen in German and English.
A 60-minute task based on a realistic day-to-day challenge from the role, done at a time slot you pick. We care about how you think, not just the answer.
60 minutes with the hiring manager and People team, going deeper on experience, skills, and what you want to build here.
For full-time and part-time roles: a 3–4 hour live case with prep time, focused work, and a role-play plus presentation at the end. Working-student roles skip this step.
Let's hatch out first plans, in only 30 minutes.
An honest conversation around the processes you actually run: OHS, picking, packing, and more. Today vs. the future. No slide marathon. No irrelevant demo.
